Cryogenic ULT, note by note
Cryogenic — Camellia ft. Petra Gurin — is where In Falsus's ULT ladder starts to bite: an ULTIMATE 9 chart of 980 notes with famously tight timing windows, field beams that sweep the whole playfield, and streams that keep three fingers hopping between the ASD and SDF clusters. A Perfect Dive demands all 980 notes as EXACT; the run filmed for this guide reached EX+ with a FULL LINK and still left 18 NEARs on the table. Follow it section by section — every step deep-links back to the moment of the run it shows.

Know the chart before you dive

Start from an honest baseline
The video opens on the run this page is going to beat: an EX at 98'868'797 built on 894 + 68 EXACT, 16 NEAR and 2 BREAK — MAX LINK stalling at 591 of 980. One screen tells the whole story. The chart is clearable today; what stands between this card and a Perfect Dive is sixteen half-value notes and two chain resets.

Read the card: ULTIMATE 9
Cryogenic's ULT chart sits at ULTIMATE 9 — all six keys active, 980 notes, none of the FBD-only wide notes. The same screen lists the encounter attached to the song (Forward Rush, best score 000'201'097), so you know what a Connected finish pays before you commit. Nothing here is a reading gimmick; this chart is a tempo-discipline test.

Opening: settle the hand, bank the EXACTs
- 3
One left hand owns six lanes
The playfield labels its lanes SHIFT · A · S · D · F · SPACE. Thumb parks on Space, pinky covers Shift, and the three middle fingers live between the ASD and SDF clusters. As Daniel_NEO puts it in the run's description, the hard part is not the arcs — it is always knowing which cluster your fingers currently call home, because pressing from the wrong one drops a Caps Lock where the A should be.

Group flicks and taps into one motion
The opening alternates tap streams with a field beam tilting across the D–F–Space side, its edge ticked in cyan. ChepFrosty's first tip card is the money line: play the flick and the taps beneath it as one motion, so the mental space is spent reading the next bar instead of re-deciding this one. Rapid-fire tasks shrink to a single gesture.

Bank EXACTs while the chart is calm
Early chains stack four or more EXACTs across neighbouring lanes while a hold feeds on SHIFT — the yellow hexagon is your pinky still doing its job. Only EXACTs fill the Resonance gauge, so a clean opening opens the damage burst window sooner. Chasing a missed note here only drags more judgments out of the strict window.

Midchart: field beams without the panic
- 6
Field notes are areas, not targets
When the first long beam arrives, white brackets frame the capture zone it wants to occupy. ChepFrosty's card makes the point bluntly: a tick note needs only a small action in the right direction — treat each beam as an area you stand inside, not a point you chase. Overswinging is exactly how note heads get missed.

The brackets mark the catch area — stand inside it.Watch the source clip - 7
When the beam kinks, only the kink moves
Midchart beams change angle mid-note, and this frame catches the kink dead centre. The mouse work stays minimal: ticks along the way take a nudge, and the kink is the only place the beam truly travels. Review your own replays — most wasted motion happens at these joints, dragging the cursor off the next note's head.

The kink is the only part that travels — nudge through it.Watch the source clip - 8
Weaving beams: pre-decide the path
The back half stacks curved beams that cross from one side of the field to the other. Gauge the movement before the head arrives: sometimes the beam genuinely swings across; sometimes a straight line through it means no motion at all. Deciding which case you are in — then committing — beats flinching at the screen every time.

Crossing beams — decide the path before the head lands.Watch the source clip - 9
The straight beam rewards standing still
This one pours straight down the S–D middle, and the correct play is no play at all: hold the line and let the beam come to the judgment diamond. Set mouse sensitivity so a wrist flick — not an arm drag — reaches the farthest note; ChepFrosty admits his own recording barely covered the distance. A hand that is always travelling cannot trust stillness.

The final bursts are where NEARs breed
At combo 951 of 980 the chart throws its last acceleration, and the frame catches the honest cost: an orange-sparked NEAR beside three EXACTs, with the EARLY flag overhead. Flicks here are played accurately, not fast — arriving early parks the judgment in NEAR territory. Two or three of these is the entire distance between this run's FULL LINK and a Perfect Dive.

Close the chart with the counter at 980
The last note lands EXACT with the link counter watermark reading 980 — every note in the chart still chained — and the HUD score ticks past 99'081'864. The encounter closes Connected. Zero BREAKs end to end; only the NEARs accumulated along the way stand between this result and the clear type this page is named after.

Read the card like a coach
EX+ at 99'082'509 with the FULL LINK banner, MISS HP 13, MAX LINK 980, and the breakdown: 877 + 85 EXACT against 18 NEAR and 0 BREAK. For PD purposes the card is a budget — eighteen NEARs, each a half-value note, each a place the hand arrived early or left late. Find them in the replay and this identical run is a Perfect Dive.

FAQ
What is a Perfect Dive (PD) in In Falsus?
PD is the top clear type: every note in the chart judged EXACT — both EXACT tiers count, and the stricter tier adds a bonus point. No NEARs, no BREAKs. On Cryogenic ULT that means all 980 notes exact; a run with even one NEAR caps out at FULL LINK.
How hard is Cryogenic ULT?
It is an ULTIMATE 9 chart — the entry rung of the ULT ladder — with 980 notes across six keys. The level looks tame next to the FBD 10/11 charts, but the timing windows are famously tight and the beams punish over-movement, which is why PD hunting here is a rite of passage.
Why do I keep getting FULL LINK instead of PD?
FULL LINK means zero BREAKs with at least one NEAR — the run in this guide finished with 18. A NEAR is a hand that arrived early or late inside the wide window, so the fix is mechanical: group flicks with their taps, nudge ticks instead of swinging, and let straight beams come to you.
What score do you need for EX+ on Cryogenic?
EX+ starts at 99,000,000 points; the run here landed at 99'082'509 and other filmed EX+ clears sit in the same band. Score and clear type are separate axes — the baseline card in this guide is an EX with two BREAKs, while the FULL LINK run shows what cleaning them buys.
How do I practice the patterns that kill my run?
Repetition beats raw speed. ChepFrosty's cards stress memorization: the same shapes — kinked beams, SHIFT holds, final bursts — reappear combined into bigger patterns, and knowing them frees the mental space the tight windows demand. Pair this page with the hand-placement guide for the physical side.
