Enigma FBD 13, the Arc 2 boss, an honest wipe
Enigma — sanmal's boss song of Arc 2: A Past Best Untold — saves its cruelest tier for last: FORBIDDEN 13, a six-key Confined Encounter whose own warning dialog tells you a weak deck may not survive. This page rebuilds the chart from Kyrosol's full chart-view film (uploaded September 9, 2026, Note Speed 6.00): twelve frames from the song list to the DIVE RESULT card, each deep-linked to the moment it comes from. The hands on film never dropped a single NEAR — and the run lost anyway. That is the lesson this page teaches.
Enigma is an Arc 2 unlock — the chapter's closing boss song. The walkthrough below sticks to chart mechanics, but the frames and the encounter's name touch late-Arc-2 story progress. If you care about the reveal, go play the arc first.

Before the dive: the arc, the card, the warning

Find Enigma behind the red FBD tab
The song list pins Enigma to the A Past Best Untold arc, and its difficulty row runs MIN 4 (4-KEY), EVO 7 (5-KEY) and ULT 11 (6-KEY) before ending at FBD 13 in red. FORBIDDEN is its own tier: the same six keys as ULT, played as a Confined Encounter against your card deck. The CONNECT panel below the card names the opponent — Path Without Ambition, NATIVE difficulty, MAX POTENCY 177.

Read the card before you commit a deck
Enigma's jacket screen is where the run starts — sanmal's track, illustrated by 少女人. The Miraheze song list confirms what the tabs show: FBD 13 is this song's ceiling, two levels above its ULT. Nothing on this screen tells you the note count; FORBIDDEN hides its scale until you are already inside it.

Opening: the streams before the storm
- 3
Bank the opening stream at Note Speed 6.00
The dive opens with a single magenta stream climbing the center lanes at Note Speed 6.00 — quick enough that the first 46’106 points already stand for a dozen clean judgments. FBD grades nothing gently, but the opening is honest: taps within reach, BREAK labels waiting for anyone who over-swings. Wrists planted, collect it.

Take the first twin beams as one motion
Two violet beams lean in from both sides of the keyboard, and this frame catches the EXACT spark as they meet the line at 000’177’661. The play is the one the ULT ladder already taught: cover the beam edge and the taps beneath it in a single tracked motion, and let the yellow flick accents ride the same gesture instead of earning their own swing.

The V-wall is where FBD starts charging rent
A full V of magenta and pink beams fills the lanes at 001’244’841, BREAK labels stacked four wide along the judgment line. This is the workload tier FBD 13 lives at: both hands committed, no idle lane, every landing worth full value. The ULT 11 version of this song teaches the shapes; the FBD version charges for every hesitation inside them.

The wall, the silence, and the return
- 6
Survive the silence — the score freezes for twenty seconds
Then Enigma does what boss songs do: it stops. From roughly 1:35 to 1:55 of the film the field empties, one pale hold beam drifts down the middle, and the score HUD freezes dead at 002’627’997 — sample it at 1:36, 1:44 or 1:52 and the number has not moved. The BREAK labels still hanging on the line are the game reminding you it is watching. Keep counting through the quiet: the chart is not over, it is reloading.

The return hits harder than the wall
The silence ends and the chart comes back swinging: a cyan slab nearly a lane-group wide lands center with an EXACT spark while 002’931’553 clocks onto the HUD. Everything the wall taught still applies, but after a gap the tempo feels faster than it reads — and that illusion is where post-silence BREAKs are born. Count yourself back in during the quiet, not on the first slab.

Split the twin cyan slabs between hands
Enigma's midgame stacks its slabs two abreast — parallel cyan walls riding the left and center clusters at 003’595’711 while the purple cursor triangle keeps its own lane. The split is natural: the left hand owns the Shift–A–S edge, the right hand takes D–F–Space, and neither crosses. The density here is relentless but fair — every slab lands where the previous one taught you to stand.

The last climb spends everything you saved
Past five million the chart stops alternating and starts stacking: a violet slab slams the right lanes for an EXACT at 005’694’326, sparkle trail still burning. There is no rest beat between 5.6 and 5.9 million — this is the stretch where a full deck pays its dividends, because your hands will not get a free second until the song ends. Or until you do.

Death at Phase 5 and the honest card
- 10
Where the run dies: the gauge, not the hands
The score freezes at 005’947’571 and a yellow flick is still falling toward a green wedge — but the run is already over. The red −15 at the top of the screen is the miss gauge below zero: in a Confined Encounter, the dive ends the moment your survival pool empties, wherever the chart happens to be. These hands were clean — zero NEAR through five phases — and the gauge killed them anyway. That is the FBD contract.

DIVE FAILED is a deck verdict, not a hand verdict
The banner drops over an empty field with the score parked at 005’947’571 — several hundred thousand points short of the song's end, killed by attrition in Phase 5, on hands that never misjudged a note. FBD 13 prices your deck into the chart. The encounter's own warning dialog had said as much before the dive: craft stronger cards, or the gauge will not last the distance.

Read the honest card: 129 EXACT, zero NEAR, one lesson
The result card tells the truth in four rows: EXACT 129, EXACT 0, NEAR 0, BREAK 2,040 — everything after the gauge popped auto-breaks, which is why the BREAK column reads like a phone number. MAX LINK 2, MISS GAUGE −15, score 005’645’797. The 2,040 also whispers the chart's scale: even this far short, more than two thousand notes had already been faced. For a first published FBD 13 attempt there is no shame on this card — only homework.

What makes FBD different from ULT
FORBIDDEN charts are not a harder ULT — they are a different mode. The song select runs them as Confined Encounters: your five-card loadout faces a named opponent (here, Path Without Ambition at NATIVE difficulty), and the playfield HUD carries encounter-only readouts — an ENCOUNTER SCORE, a survival pool, and a PHASE counter that climbed from 1 to 5 across this film.
Two rules change how you fail. First, the dive ends the instant the miss gauge empties — this run died at −15 with a 129 EXACT, 0 NEAR record, and every note after that moment banks as BREAK, which is where the card's 2,040 comes from. Second, deck power is priced into the tier: the encounter warns you outright that a weak loadout may not defeat it. Build the deck first, then chase the chart.

FAQ
How do you unlock Enigma in In Falsus?
Enigma is the boss song of Arc 2, A Past Best Untold — it surfaces through that arc's story, and its FORBIDDEN chart opens as a Confined Encounter once the song is yours. The song select in this guide shows the geography: Enigma sits in the A Past Best Untold arc panel beside the arc's other encounters. Because the song is the arc's finale, both the community wiki and this page treat the name as a spoiler — play Arc 2 first.
How hard is Enigma FBD 13?
It is the song's ceiling — the same card offers MIN 4, EVO 7 and ULT 11 below it — and its only FORBIDDEN tier: six keys, played against your card deck. The chart is a relentless beam-and-slab sprint with a twenty-second silent break in the middle. No official note count is published; the film's result card implies a workload above two thousand notes. The real gate is attrition: the filmed run played five phases with 129 EXACT and 0 NEAR and still failed on gauge.
How should I practice the Enigma FBD chart?
Clear ULT 11 first — same six lanes, same beam language, no deck pressure. Then rehearse the two FBD-only skills this page frames: surviving the silent break (keep counting while the field is empty; the chart restarts at full density with no warning beat) and pacing flicks inside beam landings. Practice at the Note Speed you intend to dive with — this film runs 6.00 — and treat deck crafting as part of the chart, not a side quest.
What does the “Card loadout is not strong enough” warning mean?
It is the Confined Encounter's gate check. Before the dive, In Falsus weighs your five-card loadout against the encounter — here Path Without Ambition, NATIVE difficulty, MAX POTENCY 177 — and warns: “Your current Card loadout is not strong enough to defeat this Confined Encounter. Crafting stronger cards may be necessary to succeed.” The filmed run dove anyway, and the prediction came true at Phase 5. Treat the warning as the chart telling you its failure mode in advance.
Why did the filmed run fail with zero NEARs?
Because FBD failure is gauge failure, not accuracy failure. The result card shows EXACT 129 and NEAR 0 — not one sloppy note across five phases — alongside MISS GAUGE −15: the survival pool hit bottom before the chart did. Everything after that instant books as BREAK automatically, which is how a clean-looking run ends with 2,040 of them. On FORBIDDEN charts, hand cleanliness keeps you alive longer; deck power decides whether long enough is long enough.
