Card System

Integration, in Depth

Integration is In Falsus' crafting table: you fit collectible Iota pieces onto a Blueprint's hex grid, and the placement — not the Blueprint alone — decides the final card's Power, Defense and Traits. The same Blueprint can be integrated again and again into different cards; the Iota are consumed each time. This page is the full rulebook.

The Blueprint Grid

Every Blueprint is a field of hexagonal tiles in three kinds. Cards start at 0/0 with no Trait slots — everything comes from which Zones your Iota manage to fill.

ZonesColored clusters that pay out fixed base Power, Defense and/or Trait slots once filled with Iota of the matching color. Each Zone shows a counter of matching tiles occupied; hover a Zone in-game to see its bonus.
Blank tilesLighter tiles that are safe to cover but pay nothing — useful as bridges to keep your placement connected.
Unsafe tilesThe darker remainder of the grid. Every Iota resting on one takes an Out of Bounds penalty (one per Iota at most).

Hard Placement Rules

I

Total Iota used can never exceed the Blueprint's Max Iota Limit.

II

Iota cannot be rotated or flipped — the shape you own is the shape you place.

III

At most 3 Iota may overlap on a single tile; a fourth raises a stack-limit error.

IV

Integration is only allowed once enough Zones are filled to lift base Power and Defense above zero.

Final Card Stats

Zones set the base, your Iota quality scales it, and penalties can erase it. Average Potency of the Iota used becomes a straight multiplier — 100-Potency pieces are neutral, better pieces push stats above base. Trait slots come only from filled Zones, and Traits are chosen after placement from those carried by the Iota you used.

Power/Defense = (Sum of filled Zones) × (Average Potency ÷ 100) × Penalty multiplier

Stats are locked the moment Integration is finalised, and the Iota are consumed.

The Five Penalties

OverloadOne per Iota placed beyond the Iota Limit (a softer limit under the hard Max).
Out of BoundsOne per Iota touching only unsafe tiles' territory — each Iota can take at most one.
OverlapOne per tile holding multiple Iota, no matter how many are stacked on it.
DisconnectOne per separate Iota cluster beyond the first — keep everything connected.
FalsehoodAn Iota touching no safe tile at all — instantly adds infinite penalties, zeroing the card.

Character Skills

Skills belong to the Blueprint's character — not whoever is on the menu screen. Infusion levels gate which Iota colors and tiers you can even use; tolerance skills forgive a set number of penalties before the stat reduction kicks in, opening up placements that would otherwise be ruined.

Iota

Iota are the consumable material: connected hex shapes of a single color, organised into tiers, each with a numeric Potency and sometimes a Trait attached. Placing a Trait-bearing Iota makes that Trait selectable — provided the card has a free slot.

They drop from cleared Encounters only — a Connected result with Dive Cleared or better. Each Encounter has its own pool (as of demo v0.3.0: twelve Iota of one tier across four colors, three shapes each) and its own maximum drop Potency.
